NSW Peak Demand Reduction Scheme

NSW pays businesses to cut peak demand. That is what a battery does all day.

From 1 September 2026 the Peak Demand Reduction Scheme puts a market value on capacity that takes load off the grid when it matters most. A commercial battery is built for exactly that. Ampaura VAST is certified for BESS4. The RCTerra range is certified for BESS5.

How the scheme works

Certificates for capacity, value off your project

From 1 September 2026 the scheme creates certificates for capacity that can reliably reduce demand during peak windows. A battery earns them because it can be counted on to push your site's grid draw down when the network needs it. Those certificates have a market value, and that value comes off the cost of your project. A project completed before 1 September does not qualify, so timing matters.
