Privacy Policy

We would rather hold less of your information than more. If we do not need it to quote, design, supply or support your system, we try not to collect it. This page sets out what we do collect, why, who sees it and how to get it back or corrected.

Who we are

Ampaura Australia supplies commercial, industrial and residential battery storage, and the software that designs and runs it.

  • Ampaura Australia, ABN 54 677 152 751
  • 502-504 South Road, Kurralta Park SA 5037
  • (08) 7134 3488
  • admin@ampauraaustralia.com.au

This policy covers ampauraaustralia.com.au, the Ampaura Connect and Ampaura Designer platforms, and any dealings you have with us by phone, email or in person.

Our commitment

We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Our annual turnover sits below the three million dollar threshold at which the Act applies automatically, so strictly speaking we are not required to. We comply anyway. If we are going to ask a business for twelve months of interval data and the address of their site, the least we can do is handle it to the standard a larger company would be held to.

What we collect

When you contact us or fill in a form

Your name, email address, phone number, company and postcode. What you are trying to achieve. Anything else you choose to tell us in a message or on a call.

When you ask us to model a site

Electricity bills and half hourly interval data for the site. Meter and tariff details, and details of existing solar, batteries or other equipment. Site photographs, single line diagrams and switchboard details where you send them.

Interval data describes a site, not a person. Where it can be linked to a named individual, for example a home battery enquiry, we treat it as personal information.

When you use Ampaura Connect or Ampaura Designer

Account details for the people you authorise to log in. Operational data from the system: state of charge, dispatch, alarms, meter readings and performance against the documented baseline. Records of what was changed, by whom and when.

Where a system is installed at a residence, operational data can indicate patterns of occupancy. We treat it as personal information in that case and hold it accordingly.

When you visit our website

Pages you viewed, roughly where you were, what browser and device you used. How you arrived, including any campaign tags and advertising click identifiers. Cookies and similar technologies, set out in our Cookie Notice.

Why we collect it

  • To answer your enquiry and quote or design a system
  • To supply, install, commission and support what you buy
  • To operate Ampaura Connect and report on how your system is performing
  • To honour warranty obligations and meet compliance and incentive scheme requirements
  • To improve our products, including the models behind AI Mode
  • To send you information about our products, where you have agreed to receive it

We do not sell personal information. We do not trade in it.

Who we share it with

Only where it is needed to do the job.

  • Your installer or EPC, where they are delivering your project.
  • Our suppliers, principally RCT Power, where a warranty claim or technical escalation requires it.
  • Our service providers. At the date above these are Webflow, which hosts this website, and HubSpot, which runs our forms, customer records and email.
  • Incentive scheme administrators and their agents, where you are claiming a certificate based incentive and the scheme requires the information.
  • Professional advisers, insurers and regulators, where the law requires or permits it.

Information sent overseas

Our HubSpot instance is hosted in HubSpot's Australian data region, so customer records and form submissions stay in Australia.

Webflow, which hosts this website, stores data in the United States. Before we disclose personal information overseas we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles it consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Direct marketing

We will only send you marketing where you have asked for it or where you would reasonably expect it because you are a customer. Every marketing email carries an unsubscribe link, and we act on unsubscribes promptly, as the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) requires. You can also ask us to stop at any time by emailing admin@ampauraaustralia.com.au.

Keeping it secure

We hold personal information in access controlled systems and limit access to the people who need it. No system is perfect, and we will not pretend otherwise. If we suffer a data breach that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that do not become projects: 24 months.
  • Customer and project records: seven years after the end of the warranty period, to meet tax, warranty and compliance obligations.
  • Ampaura Connect operational data: the life of the system plus 12 months.

When we no longer need personal information, we destroy it or de-identify it.

Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and you can ask us to correct it if it is wrong. Email admin@ampauraaustralia.com.au. We will respond within 30 days. There is no charge for asking, though we may charge a reasonable cost for retrieving a large volume of records, and we will tell you before we do. If we refuse access or correction we will tell you why in writing.

Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your personal information, tell us first. Email admin@ampauraaustralia.com.au and mark it "Privacy complaint". We will acknowledge within 5 business days and give you a written answer within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our answer you can take the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change, and the date at the top will tell you when it last changed. If a change materially affects how we handle your information we will tell you directly.

This policy is written to be read and understood. It is not legal advice and it has not been settled by a lawyer. If anything here is wrong or unclear, email admin@ampauraaustralia.com.au and we will fix it.
